James Rushworth is a Senior Advisor to The Profile Group, based in Singapore; he joined the team in 2007 to lead the expansion into Singapore and SouthEast Asia. With close to 30 years of executive search and recruitment experience, the majority of it in Asia, James has been long recognized as a leading voice in the financial services community. He stepped away from the business in 2025, but stays very much connected to the markets and offers his valuable perspective to the group.
Experience
James has been with The Profile Group since 2007, where he established and led the business in Singapore, overseeing its growth and development across Southeast Asia with responsibility for strategy, client relationships, governance, and management of business operations.
Most recently, James served as Managing Director, Southeast Asia, and was personally responsible for executive appointments across the Financial Services industry in the CFO/COO and affiliated functions across infrastructure divisions. He also led senior mandates across Human Resources.
Prior to The Profile Group, James spent close to 12 years with a leading UK executive search firm, latterly as Head of the Financial Services and Human Resources divisions, having relocated from London to Singapore in 2001. James began his career as an FX dealer in London at Standard Chartered Bank.
Education
James holds a Bachelor's degree in Geography from Queen Mary University of London.
